The invention concerns a method for preparing composite materials comprising an electrode active compound of formula AaDdMmZzOoNnFf, such as a compound for inserting an alkaline ion such as a lithium ion, and an electronic conductor compound, such as carbon, which consists in thermally decomposing, for a short time, a homogeneous mixed precursor containing all the elements A, D, M, Z, O, N and F forming the electrode active compound as well as organic and/or organometallic compounds, so as to obtain the composite material. Said composite materials are useful in particular in devices containing said compounds and/or active materials, such as electrochrome devices and accumulators or batteries, in particular lithium batteries.
