<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which can enhance adjustment precision of recording laser power without making process sequence in recording operation complicated. <P>SOLUTION: Responding to a recording start instruction, OPC is performed using inner disk drive zone, and the recording laser power Pws is initialized. After that, when a recording command REC (1) is submitted, recording is carried out from the head of data area in order by laser power Pws. Then, if intermittent standby period is set, sample data is recorded on the following recording position, and R-OPC is executed. Thereby, the recording laser power Pws is reset. After that, when the recording commands REC (2) are issued, recording is performed by the laser power Pws after resetting from the following record position, namely the position following the trailer of REC (1) in order.
