<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an intermediate transfer belt when the cover is opened and to facilitate the removal of a recording material jammed in a transfer section. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a transfer section T2 for transferring a toner image to a recording material from the intermediate transfer belt 51 whose surface is white. An outer cover 11 forming a part of recording-material conveyance paths 16 and 17 is constructed so that it can be opened or closed. The image forming apparatus also includes a cover-cum-paper guide 70 which covers the intermediate transfer belt 51 and guides the recording material passing through the transfer section T2. The cover-cum-paper guide 70 is constructed so that it can be opened or closed such that when the outer cover 11 is open, the cover-cum-paper guide 70 covers the intermediate transfer belt 51. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
