<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generation system and a control method thereof capable of controlling output of power generation from a heat source side and capable of improving heat efficiency over the whole of the system. <P>SOLUTION: This power generation system is provided with a heating device 4, a Stirling engine 11, a generator 12, a flow control means 6 and a temperature control means 9. The flow control means controls flow of the heat gas to be supplied to the heating device by variably controlling exhaust flow of the heat gas flow (HG) downstream of the heating device.
