PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chuck device having a multistage staircase structure for holding workpieces different in diameter with the same chucking means, reducing the size of a claw part abutting on a workpiece as compared with the multistage staircase, making one claw part cope with one chuck means, and improving the efficiency of a setup process. SOLUTION: In this chuck device, two or more chuck claw means 3 are mounted removably. The chuck claw means 3 is composed of a claw part 4 formed as a block piece and provided with a dovetail groove 4a formed on a work abutting surface 4b and a surface orthogonal to the abutting surface 4b, and a claw part support member 5 projected to slidaby fit to the dovetail 4a of the claw part 4 and engaged with the dovetail groove 4a. The claw part support member 5 presents a staircase structure composed of a lower stage formed by two or more projecting dovetails stepped upward to the radial outside of the chuck device body 1 and an upper stage, and the claw part 4 is slidably fitted to the claw part support member 5 from the center side of the chuck device body 1 to the radial outside.
