PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data file collecting device for collecting a data file matched with the degree of demand from a user with a small load and a retrieval system using this file collecting device. SOLUTION: This retrieval system 1 is provided with a retrieval device 30 equipped with a retrieval database 20 for storing retrieval information on each data file by using an internal data file group 4 which can be acquired through a network 2 as a retrieval target, a data file collecting device 10 connected to the retrieval device 30. This retrieval system 1 includes a means for acquiring information to specify at least a portion of data files among data files included in the past retrieval result, and the data file collecting device 10 acquires each data file in different cycles for a first data file group which is specified by specification information and a second data file group which is not specified by the specification information, and the acquired data file is supplied to the update processing of retrieval information.
