摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously connecting structure for an expansion joint which is arranged at a discontinuous portion at a midpoint or at an edge of a bridge, wherein the continuously connecting structure can exert sufficient expansion/contraction performance, vertical bearing performance, etc. by employing a joint member relatively simple in structure and low in cost. SOLUTION: The joint member 10 is embedded in notches 8, 8 each formed in an upper portion of an edge of a bridge body (a bridge girder or a bridge abutment) which is arranged in a manner opposed to a counterpart across an expansion gap 4 at the midpoint or the edge of the bridge 1, in a manner slidable by means of a simple bearing or a plate. The joint member is made of high-toughness fiber-reinforced cement 11 which is obtained by blending Vinylon fibers etc. in a cement matrix, exhibits large pseudo-extensibility caused by cracking and dispersion, and has a suitable rigidity withstanding wheel loads.
