PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus which can efficiently operate a cleaning means without wasting the means, and to provide a cleaning method of a liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: The liquid jetting apparatus 10 includes a discharge opening 55A which discharges a liquid, the cleaning means 20 disposed to the discharge opening for cleaning at least the discharge opening, a cleaning means control part 19C which controls the operation of the cleaning means, and a cleaning means control part management information storage means 603 which stores cleaning means control part management information for controlling the cleaning means control part. In the liquid jetting apparatus 10 which has a position change information acquiring means 8 for acquiring position change information as a change of the liquid jetting apparatus, and the posture change information generating information storage means 603 for storing posture change information generating information that generates posture change information of the liquid jetting apparatus on the basis of the position change information, the cleaning means control part management information is generated on the basis of the posture change information.
