PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Grignard reagent of a compound having triple bond and a method for producing a long-chain aliphatic alkynyl compound by using the Grignard reagent. SOLUTION: The Grignard reagent is expressed by formula (1): X<SP>1</SP>MgC≡C(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>6</SB>MgX<SP>2</SP>. The aliphatic alkynyl Grignard compound expressed by formula (2): X<SP>1</SP>MgC≡C(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n+6</SB>X<SP>3</SP>is produced by reacting a bromine compound expressed by formula (5): Br(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>X<SP>3</SP>with the Grignard reagent expressed by formula (1) preferably in an organic solvent in the presence of a copper catalyst. In the formulas, X<SP>1</SP>and X<SP>2</SP>are each independently a halogen atom; X<SP>3</SP>is H, Br or Cl; and n is an integer of 3-10 representing the carbon number. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
