An electromagnetic induction heater having a magnetic core and an exciting coil not damaged when the magnetic core is installed. The electromagnetic induction heater comprises the exciting coil (253) arranged along the circumferential surface of a fixing belt (230) which is an object to be heated by electromagnetic induction heating and a first magnetic core (254) installed to cover one surface of the exciting coil (253) and serving as the magnetic core. A protective member (400) for protecting the one surface of the exciting coil (253) is interposed between the exciting coil (253) and the first magnetic core (254). With this, since the one surface of the exciting coil (253) is protected by the protective member (400), the exciting coil (253) is not damaged by the first magnetic core (254) when a back surface core (254) is so installed as to cover the one surface of the exciting coil (253).
