<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for an automobile capable of securing safety of an occupant by protecting the occupant in a cabin such as a front passenger seat or a driver's seat from impact of a head-on collision or a side collision at the time of a collision of a vehicle such as the automobile. <P>SOLUTION: In this air bag device for the automobile, a breaking opening part 46 of an interior panel 40 provided in the cabin of the automobile has a double hinged door system, and a reinforcing frame body 45 disposed on a rear surface at a position corresponding to an opening peripheral region of at least the breaking opening part 46 is provided. The reinforcing frame body 45 is formed by a rectangular cylindrical frame body 45a having a reinforcing edge part 45b corresponding to an outer peripheral end of an upper part opening by a thermoplastic polyolefinic soft resin (TPO) material. A breaking groove 40b for divided cleavage is formed between left and right breaking grooves 40c for the cleavage. An opening hole 20 of the breaking groove 40b machined from a rear surface side of the interior panel 40 is formed by inclining an opening angle so that an opening end 20b may be located on a rear part side remote from front glass 30 side in relation to a vertical line C orthogonal to the rear surface of the interior panel 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
