<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a data distribution server and data distribution system, in which data can be distributed efficiently, even if data distribution requests are generated from large number of terminals to the data distribution server. <P>SOLUTION: A data distribution server comprises a content management means for managing one or more contents; a unicast distribution means for distributing, by a unicast, corresponding data in the contents managed by the content management means in response to a data distribution request from a terminal; a multicast distribution means for distributing by a multicast, corresponding data in the contents managed by the content management means, in response to a data distribution request from a terminal; a distribution status management means for managing terminal information under data distribution as distribution status data; and a distribution method control means for determining, based on the distribution status data managed by the distribution status management means, whether the data are to be distributed to each of terminals via the unicast distribution means or via the multicast distribution means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
