PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete pipe which is formed of a plurality of divided partial cylinder sections, and assembled into the concrete pipe when used, wherein the concrete pipe has a strength equal to or more than that of an integral concrete pipe. SOLUTION: The concrete pipe is formed of a plurality of concrete partial cylinder bodies 1, 1 and shells 2, 2 arranged on peripheral surfaces of the partial cylinder bodies 1, 1, respectively. Each shell has a tensile strength sufficiently larger than that of the partial cylinder body. Then the partial cylinder bodies 1, 1 are joined to each other along their joint edges 3, 3, and the shells 2, 2 are circumferentially strained, to thereby apply an initial stress to the interior of the concrete partial cylinder bodies 1, 1. Further, in order to accommodate extension of the shells 2, 2 with respect to the concrete partial cylinder bodies 1, 1 when the initial stress is applied to the partial cylinder bodies 1, 1 by straining the shells 2, 2, an outer peripheral surface of each of the partial cylinder bodies 1, 1 is slidable on an inner peripheral surface of each of the shells 2, 2.
