PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of surely performing aging treatment for attaining the stabilization in the dimensions of cylinder blocks in a short time with a simple constitution, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: In the device for stabilizing the dimensions of cylinder blocks, a heating chamber K and a heat holding chamber H are adjacently arranged, and the heating chamber K is provided with a metal knit burner 2 and an actuator 3 relatively moving the metal knit burner 2, so as to closely be arranged and retreated to the prescribed position of each cylinder block 1. In a state where each cylinder block is heated, the actuation rod 30 of an actuator 3 is extensionally driven, and the metal knit part 21A is inserted into a bore part 10. In each cylinder block 1, the metal knit part 21A of the metal knit burner 2 is inserted into each bore part 10, and by short flame generated by the combustion of mixed gas on the surface thereof, heating-up is performed to a temperature higher than that in the conventional T5 treatment in a time shorter than that in the T5 treatment.
