PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-like material carrying mechanism and an image recorder, capable of stable discharge by applying propulsion to a sheet-like material such as a recording material discharged without complicating a constitution and a structure of a recording material carrying mechanism and a recording material accumulating part. SOLUTION: This sheet-like material carrying mechanism has a discharge roller part 55 composed of a driving side roller 71 and a driven side roller 72 on the discharge part side when carrying and discharging the sheet-like material S outside from a discharge part. The driving side roller and a driven side roller are composed of a short roller shorter in the roller shaft direction than a width of the sheet-like material. The short roller 73 of the driving side roller and the short rollers 74 and 75 of the driven side roller are arranged so as to be mutually dislocated in the roller shaft direction P, and are constituted so that the propulsion is applied to the sheet-like material by curving the sheet-like material in discharge.
