PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a rotor and a method for producing the rotor, by which a low-weight rotor for a centrifuge can be produced at low cost. SOLUTION: The rotor is configured by cutting a cylindrical part 1 into a predetermined length L from a long resin pipe reinforced with fiber, cutting a disk with a diameter that is almost equal to the internal diameter of the cylindrical part 1 from a resin plate reinforced with fiber, fitting the disk as a bottom face plate 2 into the one opening end of the cylindrical part so as to form a cylindrical body with a bottom, coating the periphery of the cylindrical body with a bottom with a metal cover 3, and then installing a shaft coat that engages with a drive shaft at the center of the bottom plate.
