The present invention relates to a brake actuating apparatus using a motor, and more particularly, to a brake actuating apparatus which can perform braking without converting a rotational motion from the motor into a linear motion. The brake actuating apparatus according to the present invention comprises a caliper body with a cylinder, an electric motor fixed to the caliper body, a pressing piston installed in the cylinder, a housing spaced apart by a predetermined distance rearward from the pressing piston and fixedly installed at the cylinder to maintain airtightness between an inner periphery of the cylinder and the housing, a rotational shaft installed at the center of the housing to be rotated by receiving a rotational force transmitted from the motor, and a power transmission means for transmitting the rotational force of the motor to the rotational shaft. Further, a fluid-pressurizing member with a first end fixed to the rotational shaft defines a closed fluid-receiving space in cooperation with the housing and the pressing piston. A second end of the fluid-pressurizing member can enter the fluid-receiving space upon receipt of the rotational force of the motor so as to increase pressure in the fluid-receiving space, thereby urging the pressing piston.
|
