<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the density of a patch image on the surface of an image carrier. <P>SOLUTION: A patch image is formed on the surface of the belt-like image carrier 51 for holding a toner image on its surface. The patch image is detected by a patch sensor 80 disposed opposite the wrapped part of a roller 55 stretching the belt-like image carrier 51. An angle adjustment mechanism adjusts the mounted angle of the patch sensor 80 by turning the patch sensor 80 around the intersection O1 of the optical axis 83 and sensing face of the patch sensor 80. The patch sensor 80 is attached to a member 72 which is one of the components of the support frame of the image carrier 51. By adjusting the mounted angle of the member 72, the mounted angle of the patch sensor 80 is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
