摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new ferroelectric nonlinear optical crystal capable of generating coherent light having a wavelength of 200 nm or less and to provide a wavelength conversion element using the crystal. <P>SOLUTION: A strontium-aluminum fluoride single crystal (SrAlF<SB>5</SB>) is produced by a Czochralski method where the molar ratio of aluminum fluoride to strontium fluoride in a raw material packed in a crucible is 1.03 or more and 1.60 or less. A polarization inversion structure with a specified period is formed in the produced strontium-aluminum fluoride single crystal.
