PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a low-cost compact zoom lens which meets high pixels and is suitable for being mounted in, especially, a small information terminal device. SOLUTION: The zoom lens comprises, in order of from an object side, the first group 11 which is negative, the second group 12 which is positive, and the third group 13 which is positive. The first group 11 and the second group 12 move for zooming. The first group 11 is composed of: the first lens G1 having a negative refracting power; and the second lens G2 having a positive refracting power. The second group 12 is composed of: the third lens G3 made of glass, which has an aspherical face, whose convex face faces in the direction of the object side near the optical axis, and has a positive refracting power; the fourth lens G4; and the fifth lens G5 whose concave face faces in the direction of the image side and which forms a cemented lens together with the fourth lens G4.
