PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke shielding diagnostic apparatus for an elevator capable of diagnosing failure due to wear of a smoke shielding member or the like. SOLUTION: This smoke shielding door for the elevator, which is formed with the smoke shielding members 5a to 5c between elevator hall door 1 on respective floors and doorway peripheral edges 2, 3 and which has a smoke shielding function covering a clearance between the elevator hall door 1 and the doorway peripheral edges 2, 3, comprises a torque measurement circuit 31 for measuring a door motor torque amount, an initial value storage circuit 33 for storing the initial value of the torque amount and a comparative judgment circuit 34 for comparing a measured value of the torque amount with the initial value and judges the quality of the smoke shielding member based on the results obtained by the comparative circuit 34.
