<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb filter capable of preventing an end on the inflow side of a fluid (the opening portion of a cell on the inflow side) being clogged with particulates, or the like, and maintaining a high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb filter 1 has a plurality of cells 3 demarcated by porous partitions 2, and predetermined cells 3a each of which keeps one end closed and the remaining cells 3b each of which keeps the other end closed are alternately arranged so as to allow both ends to form a checker, wherein, in the cross-sections, the cross-section area of the predetermined cell 3a is different from that of the remaining cell 3b, the ratio value of hydraulic diameters of channels between the cell of bigger cross-section and the cell of smaller cross-section is 1.2 or more, for at least the cross-sectional shape of the cell of bigger cross-section, at least a portion P1 equivalent to one corner is an arcuate square, and the ratio value of the thickness of the partition 2 and the minimum thickness of a portion (intersection) with which the partition intersects is 0.7 or more and less than 1.3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
