PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removing device for a test tube stopper capable of quickly and properly removing the stopper, even if a test tube varies in size or different kinds of stoppers are put on the test tube. SOLUTION: The removing device for the test tube includes: a test tube clamp mechanism 11 for holding the test tube 1 in a straight standing state; a movable device frame 20 provided to move vertically not rotating above a stopper removing part; an open/close chucking mechanism 30 for gripping the stopper 2 of the test tube 1; a rotary driver 40 for rotating the chucking mechanism with the stopper gripped; and a lift operating mechanism 50 for moving the movable device frame 20 in the direction of removing the stopper, while the chuck rotates with the stopper gripped. The mechanism 50 includes ball screws 51 and 52 with screw lengths capable of lowering the position to stop the lowering of an open/close chuck 27 from the stopper gripping position of a large-sized test tube 1 to the stopper gripping position of a small-sized test tube 1a and a drive motor 53 for activating the ball screws. It is constituted such that the movable device frame 20 is moved vertically with movement strokes corresponding to the size of the test tube with the ball screws activated by the drive motor.
