PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber laser device and a blue laser device suitable for generating light with a shorter wavelength of 450-470 nm as a blue wavelength. SOLUTION: A first optical resonator having an optical fiber with neodymium ions (Nd<SP>3+</SP>) added and a second optical resonator having a second optical fiber with praseodymium ions (Pr<SP>3+</SP>) and ytterbium ions (Yb<SP>3+</SP>) codoped are coupled in series. Excitation light with a wavelength in the vicinity of 830-860 nm is used as excitation light of the first resonator. Laser light with a wavelength of 635 nm or 695 nm and laser light with a wavelength of 1,060-1,100 nm are simultaneously output from the second optical resonator. A third optical resonator is excited by the light with the two wavelengths, thereby generating blue light of 450-470 nm. Thus, light is obtained with a short wavelength of 450-470 nm required as a blue wavelength for use of a display. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
