PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for a liquid and a liquid detector not requiring the liquid detector to be attached exactly to a tank, and capable of determining the presence of the liquid in the tank and a liquid level. SOLUTION: The first reflection face 15a and the second reflection face 15b are provided in an inner wall part of a transparent or translucent portion in the container 10 with at least one portion made of a transparent or translucent material, detection light from an outside of the container is reflected by the first reflection face 15a under the condition where no liquid in the container exists in the transparent or translucent portion, the reflected light reflected therein is reflected again by the second reflection face 15b, the detection light is guided thereby to the outside of the container 10, and the the presence of the detection light guided to the outside is detected by a light projection and reception means 20 to detect the presence of the liquid in the tank and a liquid level.
