PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge in which even if a lock mechanism by which a reel cannot be moved in the direction of its axis is incorporated in a top plate inner plane of a case at the time of non-use, assemblability of the case is not deteriorated. SOLUTION: The recording tape cartridge 10 has a case 12 which houses a reel 40 on which a recording tape T is wound and which comprises an upper case 14 including a top plate 14A and a lower case 16 including a bottom plate 16A, a lock member 90 which are disposed slidably in a radial direction of the reel in an attachment portion 60 formed on an inner surface of the top plate 14A, and which can take a rise/fall lock position at which the lock member is intervened between an upper surface of the reel 40 and the top plate 14A to prevent movement in an axial direction of the reel and a rise/fall allowance position at which the lock member is retracted from between the upper surface of the reel 40 and the top plate 14A to allow movement in the axial direction of the reel 40, and a projecting portion 70A which is formed on the inner surface of the top plate 14A, and which projects toward the lock member 90 so that the lock member does not fall out of the attachment portion 60 at least when the case 12 is assembled.
