PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simplifying digital road network data, which deletes unnecessary data as much as possible to reduce the data volume to a required minimum in accordance with a purpose and allows positional relations to be preserved. SOLUTION: Links being in series are coupled into one link in a step a. A plurality of nodes within a prescribed distance are integrated into one node in a step b. Parallel links are integrated into one link in a step c.
