PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of performing navigation suitable for a motorcycle even if directions are not particularly given by a driver when equipped on the motorcycle. SOLUTION: In a navigation device capable of being operated in a motorcycle mode suitable for navigation in the motorcycle and in other modes different from the motorcycle mode, a mode setting means (steps 21, 22) for setting whether the navigation device operates in the motorcycle mode is provided based on a predetermined signal associated with the use object of a device. A signal showing whether a change gear of the motorcycle is in a neutral position can be used as the predetermined signal. In the motorcycle mode, direction instructions due to indication of an arrow figure without a map indication are performed, and the direction instructions accompanied by the map indication in the other mode are performed.
