PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater sand pump which can suck while controlling a sand containing rate at a constant value irrespective of an amount of inflow of sand or an amount of sediment sand, which is prevented from being buried by a large amount of inflowing sand so that the sucking operation may not become impossible, so as to improve the reliability, which is prevented from being choked by the control of the sand containing rate, and which improves the reliability of equipments at subsequent stages. SOLUTION: At the lower portion of a pump body 1 supported by floats 2 in such a manner that it can float or sink, there are provided a boxy burial-prevention board 5 which can suck water from the side and bottom portions, and digging nozzles 7 which dig sediment sand Sa accumulating in a sand collecting pit S1 to hoist up the sediment sand so that it can be sucked by the pump body 1.
