摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED array element that can be improved in light utilization efficiency, and to provide an optical writing device that can perform high-speed printing, an optical reader that can obtain high-quality image signals, and a method of manufacturing the microlens array of the LED array element. <P>SOLUTION: The LED array element (10) has an LED array chip (11) having a plurality of LEDs (13); and a microlens array (12) having a plurality of microlenses (14) formed at positions at which the microlenses (14) are respectively faced to the LEDs (13), and a plurality of projecting structures (15) having higher heights than the microlenses (14) are brought into contact with the surface of the LED array chip (11) except the LEDs (13).
