<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Mn-Zn-Ni-based ferrite having both high saturation magnetic flux density and low magnetic loss which is suitable for a power transformer, particularly a fly-back system switching power transformer. <P>SOLUTION: The Mn-Zn-Ni-based ferrite is a Mn-Zn-Ni based ferrite sintered compact having Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, ZnO, NiO and MnO as basic components and the composition contains 57-68 mol% expressed in terms of Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, 4-16 mol% ZnO, 3-12 mol% NiO and the balance being substantially MnO. The ferrite contains further 0.005-0.05 mass% SiO<SB>2</SB>, 0.020-0.20 mass% CaO and one or more kinds selected from Ta<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, ZrO<SB>2</SB>, Nb<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>, HfO<SB>2</SB>, Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, MoO<SB>3</SB>, TiO<SB>2</SB>and SnO<SB>2</SB>and has ≤3% porosity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
