<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve effective use of a luminous flux by disposing an annular translucent member and easily and precisely perform light deflection control by the annular translucent member in a projector type vehicle head lamp. <P>SOLUTION: As the annular translucent member, an annular lens 26 composed of a peripheral edge of a convex-meniscus lens is disposed between a projection lens 28 and a reflector 24 along an outer peripheral edge of the projection lens 28. Direct light travelling from a light source 22a toward a space beyond the outer periphery of the projection lens 28 is irradiated toward the front side of the lamp by the annular lens 26, and effective utilization of the light source luminous flux is achieved. In relation to the above, a shape of a back surface of the annular lens 26 is formed into a spherical surface having its center at a luminescence center of the light source 22a. Accordingly, direct light from the light source 22a travels straight without being deflected by a back surface 26a of the annular lens 26, whereby a light deflection angle on a front surface 26b of the annular lens 26 is calculated easily and with good accuracy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
