PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material with less density irregularity in an image and to provide a method for forming an image on the material. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has an image forming layer on at least one surface of a supporting body, wherein the image forming layer contains a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic acid silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder. The silver iodide content of the photosensitive silver halide ranges 40 to 100 mol%. A non-photosensitive intermediate layer (A) containing a binder is formed in the image forming layer side of the supporting body and between the farthest outermost layer from the supporting body and the above image forming layer.
