PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foil strain gauge which is effective for reducing load placement error of a load cell. SOLUTION: The foil strain gauge G is made by pasting a metal foil on the surface of insulating base substrate 2, forming resistors R1, R2 consisting of two dependent grid shape patterns by a photo etching technology, and connecting gauge leads L at both ends. Since the resistors R1, R2 are formed close in the same pattern, strain detection signal due to variation of two resistance values with independent identical characteristic can be taken out. By pasting it on the center axis of upper straining part of the load cell, load placement error can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
