PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically measure the amount of a specific gas component contained in a gas generated along with biological reactions or chemical reactions continuously or with an arbitrary interval without complicated operations. SOLUTION: A carrier gas is successively fed into reaction vessels 1a to b to successively discharge a generated gas together with the carrier gas out of the reaction vessels. The flow rate of the discharged gas is successively measured by gas flow rate measurement means 9a to d to calculate a total gas generation amount along with reactions on the basis of a difference from a carrier gas amount. The concentration of a target gas in the discharged gas is measured by gas concentration measurement means 10. On the basis of the concentration of the target gas and the discharged gas amount, a generation amount of the target gas and a ratio of the target gas amount to the total gas generation amount are determined.
