<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which allows the used amount of a toner unit to be stored even when reusing it after replacement and doesn't require attention to a contact defect between a memory and a circuit of a main body of the unit. <P>SOLUTION: A toner unit 15 freely attachable to and detachable from a mechanism part of an LSU 11 of a printer is provided with an RF tag 15a capable of storing the used amount or the like of the toner unit, and meanwhile, an RF reader/writer 16 capable of being controlled by a command from an MPU 1, and the number N of prints incremented by one per print is written and stored in the RF tag 15a through the RF reader/writer 16 by radio. The number N of prints (N=0 at the time of replacement) is written in an RF tag 15a of another new loaded toner unit 15 by replacement, in the same manner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
