<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pinion shaft supporting device to support a pinion shaft 2 fitted at one end with a pinion 2a inside a housing 1 through two oblique contacting rolling bearings 3 and 4, which are put in back-to-back combination and lubricated in an oil bath, wherein the lubricating oil passing amount of a tapered roller bearing 3 installed on the pinion 2a side is made able to be restricted without using separate component so as to reduce the stirring resistance of the lubricating oil in the tapered roller bearing 3. <P>SOLUTION: The oblique contacting rolling bearings on the pinion 2a side are constructed as tapered roller bearings 3. A retainer 14 of the tapered roller bearing 3 is formed with a greater diameter than the virtual conical plane formed by tying together the rotational axes G of the tapered rollers 13, and a flange 14b facing inward in the radial direction is installed at the minor diameter end of the retainer, while the inside diameter d of the flange 14b is made smaller than the outside diameter D of the minor flange part 12c of the inner ring 12, and the flange 12c is installed confronting the front face of the inner ring 12 in non-contact arrangement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
