<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic fortune telling system capable of doing fortune telling easily at any time by using a portable terminal or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When the fingerprint of a user is inputted from a fingerprint image information input device 1 provided in a part of an electronic terminal such as the portable terminal, the fingerprint image information input device 1 converts the fingerprint to image information and outputs it. The fingerprint image information is inputted to a fingerprint image information analyzer 2 and a feature amount is detected. The feature amount of the fingerprint and a fortune-telling result are stored in a pair in a fortune-telling data base 4, and a similarity retrieval device 3 accesses the fortune-telling data base 4 on the basis of the feature amount from the fingerprint image information analyzer 2 and outputs the fortune-telling result paired with the feature amount in a shortest distance to the feature amount.
