<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can have a frame region easily made narrow and improve the balance between a display region and the frame region, and never make the balance between both the regions worse even when a driver element is mounted on a COG basis. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a back light BL capable of emitting light even to an extension part 2a of a rear glass substrate 2, color filters 8a and 8b and a designed light shield film 9 are arranged at the extension part 2a where a semiconductor chip 4 as the driver element is mounted on the COG basis, and this region is defined as a substrate display region Ds for static display. Consequently, a large area display region can be formed of the substrate display region Ds and a liquid crystal display region De where dynamic display corresponding to an input display signal is performed by driving the sealed liquid crystal, and consequently the COG mount type liquid crystal display device is obtained which has the frame region made narrow and improves the balance of the display region and frame region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
