PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of simply classifying and arranging recording data such as sound and image data. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus comprises: a data capturing means 6 for capturing recording data; a plurality of recording buttons 1 to 4 in interlocking with the means 6; a button discrimination means 5 in interlocking with the recording buttons 1 to 4; a data processing means 7 in interlocking with the data capturing means 6 and the button discrimination means 5; and a storage means 8 in interlocking with the data processing means 7. Then each recording button activates the data capturing means 6, the data capturing means 6 outputs the captured recording data to the data processing means, the button discrimination means 5 particularizes the recording button activating the data capturing means 6 and further outputs button particularizing information of the recording button to the data processing means, and the data processing means has a function of storing the recording data received from the data capturing means 6 and the button particularizing information entered from the button discrimination means 5 to a storage means in cross-reference with each other.
