PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a detection mode from being executed during the execution of a normal control mode in a control device of an electric power steering device. SOLUTION: The control device of the electric power steering device determines whether or not a detector mode flag FD stored in a predetermined address Ai of a RAM is set to "1". When the detector mode flag FD is set to "1", and detector mode confirmation data Da and Db are stored in the respective predetermined addresses Aj and Ak of the RAM, the detector mode confirmation data except the detector mode flag are stored as the transitional condition from the normal mode processing to the detector mode processing so as to transit to the detector mode first, and the transition to an improvident detector mode processing is prevented.
