<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp of a new structure which is shorter than a conventional straight tube fluorescent lamp. <P>SOLUTION: A lamp 10 is provided with an arc tube 100 provided with electrodes 130, 140 at both end parts 112, 114 of a spiral glass tube 110, and bases 210, 220 attached to the end parts of the arc tube 100 (glass tube 110) and supplying electric power to the electrodes 130, 140. The glass tube 110 constituting the arc tube 100 turns around a prescribed straight axis A in a straight axial direction, and both end parts 112, 114 of the glass tube 110 are located on the both sides in the straight axial direction on both sides of a revolving part 116. When the revolving part 116 is seen from the straight axial direction, the peripheral diameter of the revolving part 116 is in a range of 16 to 38 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
