PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide call originating system, portable telephone, information distribution server and call originating method, capable of originating a telephone call with a simple operation. SOLUTION: When a user inputs an electronic mail address of a terminating portable telephone 102, and performs a call origination operation to an originating portable telephone 101, the input electronic mail address is transmitted to an information distribution server 103. The information distribution server 103 reads out from a database storage unit 104 the telephone number of the terminating portable telephone 102 stored in correlation with the received electronic mail address, and encrypts and transmits the readout telephone number to the originating portable telephone 101. The originating portable telephone 101 then decrypts the encrypted telephone number of the terminating portable telephone 102, and originates a call to the terminating portable telephone 102.
