PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KARAOKE system wherein a result of scoring can be displayed with a desired display method for each piece of music in a remote control apparatus that comprises a plurality of kinds of methods for displaying the result of scoring and is capable of selecting any one of the methods. SOLUTION: Request instruction information instructing play of a piece of KARAOKE music is received (radio communication section 17, CPU 12, main storage section 18), the received request instruction information is analyzed (CPU 12), and a piece of music is played based on a result of the analysis (MIDI sound source 24, mixer/amplifier 26, speaker 30). If scoring mode instruction is included in the request instruction information as a result of the analysis, voices of a singer inputted during the play is scored, and a result of scoring is displayed (CPU 12).
