PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and lightweight motor-driven wheelchair useful for the movement of an aged person and a physically weak person on a daily basis. SOLUTION: A lap gear drive force transmission method is introduced, and the drive mechanism of lap gears for directly rotating an axle, a motor for drive and a battery, etc., are housed in the inner side space of two parallel rear wheels. A car body is mounted in the form of covering the two parallel rear wheels and is used as a stool. The height and length of the car body are slightly larger than the diameter of the wheels, the width is about 30 centimeters, resin-made structure is adopted and weight is about 15 Kg. The physical strength burdens on the aged person or the physically weak person are reduced since it is lightweight, and passing on the corridor of a general household is made possible as well since the width and the length are short. A DC motor is adopted and forward and backward movements are performed by power changeover. A battery is a chargeable type and a household power source is utilized.
