An elbow rest having an elbow pad (1) on which an elbow of a person seated is rested and an elbow strut (2) for horizontally and rotatably supporting the elbow pad (1), wherein a click mechanism for stopping clicking of the elbow pad (1) at a predetermined angle is provided between the elbow pad (1) and the elbow strut (2). The click mechanism has a stationary member (3) having click engagement recesses (31k) in its outer peripheral surface (31b) and has a movable member (4) having an engagement section (41k) pivotally moving together with the elbow pad (1) and capable of sequentially and elastically engaging with the click engagement recesses (31k). The stationary member (3) is installed on the elbow strut (2) side, and the movable member (4) is installed on the elbow pad (1) side. The structure above enables, despite the click mechanism in the elbow rest, the pivoting range of the elbow pad to be freely set without the pivoting angle of the elbow pad relative to the elbow strut limited by the click mechanism.
