PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a navigation apparatus which can provide information agreeing with a running purpose by a method wherein the running purpose is discriminated and information to be provided is regulated according to a discriminated signal. SOLUTION: The necessity of the provision of information and the classification of its order are decided according to a running purpose such as a commuting operation, a trip, a recreation or the like. Then, the different order of priority is given to every running mode. That is to say, information having an urgent-information classification value CL=1 and that having a classification value CL=4 are processed especially. In order to process the exceptional information, only information having a classification value CL of 2 and that having a classification value CL of 3 are processed in a 'processing operation according to the order of priority'. While the order of priority (PR) and a running mode are taken into consideration, the order of the output of competing pieces of information is decided. That is to say, the order of the output of information and the necessity of the provision of information are decided according to various running modes. In addition, when two pieces of information compete, whether the output of information being output is stopped or not is decided according to the priority between the pieces of competing information. Whether the information whose output is to be output again or not is decided by an importance (the classification value CL) which takes into consideration the running mode of the information. |
