Transparent, electrically conductive, coated polyester film, process for its preparation and its use

Transparent, electrically conductive biaxially oriented polyester film comprises a coating containing conductive indium tin oxide particles and/or antimony tin oxide particles; and other conductive components found in the coating comprising indium tin oxide particles and/or antimony tin oxide particles or in a layer in contact with the coating. An independent claim is also included for a process for producing the above transparent, electrically conductive, biaxially oriented, single- or multilayer polyester film comprising: (1) extruding, together through a flat-film die, the melts corresponding to the individual layers of the film; (2) cooling the resultant film; performing reheating, biaxially orienting, heatsetting and cooling the film; and (3) applying the coating to the cooled film.
