WAX DISPERSIONS

The disclosed invention provides wax dispersions with an average particle size of 0.5 to 100 mum containing (a) a wax phase with a melting point above 25° C. which contains at least one oil or wax component selected from dialkyl(ene) ethers, dialkyl(ene) carbonates, dicarboxylic acids, hydroxyfatty alcohols, and mixtures thereof and at least one emulsifier, and (b) a water phase. The wax dispersions are particularly useful as a basis for cosmetic preparations and, more particularly, for impregnating and wetting utility and sanitary wipes used for personal hygiene and body care.
