<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of welding a first metallic component 1 to a second metallic component 2 without performing copper brazing. <P>SOLUTION: In the welding method, there are prepared the first metallic component(first component) 1 in which a thin annular projection 1b is formed along the axial direction on the end face of a shaft 1a and the second metallic component 2 (second component) which is formed with a fitting hole 2a to be fitted to the shaft of the first component and with a plurality of notches 2b formed on the inner circumference of this fitting hole. With the fitting hole of the second component fitted to the shaft of the first component, with the first component placed on one electrode 3a of an electric resistance welding machine 3, and with the thin annular projection of the first component abutted on the other electrode 3b of the welding machine, the thin annular projection is pressurized with the other electrode of the welding machine while a welding current is made to flow. Then, the pressurized projection is meltingly crushed into the plurality of notches formed on the inner circumference of the fitting hole, thereby bitingly welding the first and the second component by resistance welding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
